It was an honour to run this masterclass forย The Matcha Initiativeย last Friday, inย Elitez Group of Companiesย offices. I left the room energized by the participantsโ interest and engagement, on a topic that is so critical.ย
A few key take-away, if you missed the session:
1.ย ย โก#Sustainableย #HRย practices are the true mirror of how you treat people (inside and outside your company). Think employees, but also potential candidates, alumni, communities and your business ecosystem. ย What do you want to see in this mirror? ๐ย
2.ย ย โกSome deep trends are impacting how organizations rethink at HR (the rise of the mental health concern, the never ending โwar on talentโ, the changing aspirations of workersโ generations, etcโฆ). How do you make sense of these in your HR strategy? ๐ค ๐ก
3.ย ย โกThere is a huge short term and long term cost of not doing anything!ย #Businessย leaders,ย #CHROsย andย #CFOs, be aware of this! Over-maximizing profit does not sit well with sustainable and progressive practices (in HR like in any other area by the way). ๐ธ
4.ย ย โกYou can use a simple framework to progress. Does not matter if you are at a 3 or a 8 on the scale of sustainable practices in your organization, there is always a starting point! ๐
5.ย ย โกEngage, engage, engageโฆ at all levels of your organization, and start from the top. If leaders are not engaged and leading the way, itโs like writing with your other hand: itโs hard, it takes time, and you want to switch back to your other hand quickly (aka old habits) โ ๐
6.ย ย โกWe all hate greenwashing, right? Donโt get intoย #peoplewashingย (I think I might have invented this one!). โฆ Be genuine, committed and sincere in your decisions and actions. People notice when you do the right thing, for real. They also notice quickly when you donโt and the price to pay to build your credibility back is huge (if it ever comes back...). โ
7.ย ย โกYou donโt know where to start? Dream big, start small. Design your plan, see what you can easily implement first. ๐
