Supporting women to thrive and succeed in their career and life requires consistent commitment from organizations, a platform to allow for openness and true inclusion, a recognition of different paths of life and opportunities to build strong support system to ensure women are adequately supported to build the career they want and deserve.
I was very happy to be invited to participate to #iwd2024 celebration at #lvmh Singapore last week, as a panelist, because beyond the celebration itself, we spoke and heard stories of amazing women who have driven their career and their life to their fullest.

It requires grit, trade offs, making tough choices sometimes, a good dose of adaptability and confidence in taking some risks, a learning mindset but also sponsors, managers and mentors along the way that participate in creating this success. It definitely takes a village!

In all the inspiring stories we heard, #mentoring and #networking played an important part of their success:
1๏ธโฃ Through mentoring and meaningful connections we gain an awareness of how to build our own journey, a sounding board when times are complex or challenging.
2๏ธโฃ Weย build connections that support us. As I shared, we are as strong as the people we are surrounded by. This is not about quantity or ยซย on a need basisย ยป connection , but about thinking long term and nurturing the relationship
3๏ธโฃ Being there for others, being generous and genuine in our connections truly matters in a career that spans over 40 years (in various shapes or forms). Thinking long term is key!

I am always amazed by the power of personal stories. All these key concepts on career development and networkingย are crucial and most of the time,ย easy to understand.
๐ซ What makes the real difference is how they are embodied by leaders and role models. At the end of the day, this is what connects us and inspires us.
The spirit of #IWD is also about this, putting at the centre of the attention the true power of connections, sponsorship and mentoring, so it creates ripple effects, way beyond March 8th.
