🌏 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐟𝐮𝐧, 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠… 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞

Yesterday we delivered our AlterCOP full day event on 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 & 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Why the focus on #HumanCapital & #Youth? Because we urgently need to explore and create the conditions for a paradigm shift to truly address the broader #sustainability agenda.

After weeks (months) of hard work behind the scenes, we have welcomed 30 speakers, trainers, panellists to share their perspectives, stories, challenges & hopes with our +150 participants.

Not only was it a success, but on a more personal note, I learned so much as well. The day left me with a strong will to do more.

My key take-aways (a shortlist of many more):

 ➡ Solutions might come from people who still don’t know yet about #climate #change, hence the criticality of spreading the word, again and again. Education & awareness are key from young kids to adults. It can come from formal education but also community or corporate initiatives.

 ➡ Creating bridges between generations, providing platform for #Youth to accelerate their impact is crucial to make a real difference. Want to help? Ask them what they NEED. Clock is ticking.

 ➡ Connecting people back to their emotions, values, understanding their position and what would make them act is crucial in leading this massive change. Take people where they are.

 ➡ There are so many initiatives. From grass root communities to youth and corporate or government programs. The missing link? helping them to connect to amplify their impact.

 ➡ We don’t need perfect sustainable leaders or climate change agents, we need MORE! Spread the word.

 ➡ Sustainability will truly become a reality when it is no longer a field per se but embedded in all levels of corporates, governments and society decisions.

 ➡ Imagination, creativity, perseverance and changing the narratives are key to addressing the climate change issue.

This leads me to a moto dear to my heart, that I have shared in my opening and closing statements for the day: 

we ALL have a role to play – It starts with me, it starts with you. It’s easy to say we know and we care, it is less to really ACT. So spread the word and do something. You don’t know where to start? Do something small, go step by step. Reach out if you are looking for ideas and support.
