That's a pretty bold and yet very common statement I hear from my clients, in coaching and leadership trainings.
โ And now what?
You can't really make an impact if you don't know the type of impact you are talking about.ย
Very much like success, happiness, ... as long as you do not define clearly what it means for you and why it matters to you, it remains a "feel good" statement lacking some substance. โย
If you are serious about YOUR impact, here is a simple framework to start:
WHY ->Define and understand your values. They are your strong drivers.
โ WHAT -> Know your passions and beliefs. What is really moving you? What do you believe in?
โ HOW -> Own yourย #strengths, they are your unique signature, your DNA to make things happen.
WHO -> Collaborate and connect on issues and topics that matter to you (from networking to communities of practice)ย
โ WHAT -> Clarify your goals: spend your time wisely and strategically on these (make your plan)
โ HOW -> Learning, sharing, exposure and knowledge will improve your impact (thinkย #mentoring).
Whether your impact aspiration is (check all that apply):
โ making the world a better placeย
โ giving to others
โ becoming a thought leader in your area of expertiseย
โ being a role model for younger (female) professionals
โ inspiring your kidsย
โ others...ย
...being intentional about your impact will ensure you do it for real.ย
And because people get inspired by people,ย
It will create ripple effects,ย
Generate more impact,
It is as simple as that,ย
It is contagious
And you, what's your impact?
